NAVIGON U.S. West App Reviews

56 add

Are you kidding

Change your phone and have to purchase all over again. Lawyer friend says this is uncommon and should be looked into. Part 2 - with enough bad reviews they issued an update. All better now.

Routing me through cornfields?!

Im on an interstate that goes straight through to my destination, but navigon keeps trying to route me onto rural roads and literally into a cornfield. Ive checked all the settings and there is no cornfield setting turned on!

Does not connect

Like many other customers, keeps giving me the message " cannot connect to the server" just lost my money.

Very difficult to get working

Ive had to reinstall Navigon on my iPad and its not gone well. First time around the maps installed, but one of the in app purchases stalled and wouldnt restart. Removed and reinstalled Navigon, now the maps wont load. Ridiculous.

iOS 6.1 problems

Since updating my iPhone 5 to 6.1 I can no longer use Navigon in conjunction with Siri. As soon as I use Siri I lose my turn by turn audible announcements. If I reboot Navigon completely it will start working again. I can still play music but cant use Siri.

Unacceptable Traffic Info

I really wanted to give this app 5 stars as it has always performed flawlessly for me. However, I usually know where Im going so I the main reason I use it is for traffic information. This traffic add-on is virtually unusable in my area (Portland, Oregon). Segments that should be labeled red are often just yellow or show no traffic at all. Any backups at freeway onramp metering lights are not shown. When it does identify a serious backup, it reroutes through arterials that are often more congested than the freeways. It usually shows that theres no traffic at all on these streets. I understand that this app relies on a 3rd party to obtain traffic information. it is time, then, to switch providers. Accurate information is available elsewhere. Traffic on Google Maps, for instance, has always been very reliable. Should I see an improvement with this add-on, Ill be more than delighted to revise my review.

Great app

Great app. The best Ive ever used. You can use the only card you need and dont waste the space on your phone for 1+GB maps. Price is good. I like this app snd recommend it!!!

BROKEN

This app. no longer works since IOS 6.1 It used to have turn by turn VOICE navigation but now the VOICE no longer works!!! I have uninstalled & reinstalled several times! And why did I have to keep adjusting the volume for every address I wanted directions to in order to hear it? Leave the volume so it always stays at the same level! It is dangerous to have to keep finding & adjusting the volume while driving! DEVELOPERS U NEED GET ON THE BALL & FIX THESE PROBLEMS W/ UR APP!!!

Used to work

This app was great. Now for some reason I cannot ever get out of the map manager, and every time I try to use it on the road I find I need to re-download the maps I already downloaded. Difficult to contact their support department, just give me an email address to send to! I dont have time to wait on the phone.

Voice Issues and Bad UI

This app is unable to lower the music smoothly, regardless of what app is playing music. It is horrible!!! Also when I hit "Start Navigation" its supposed to so that, not send me to another screen to choose more options, more of your ridiculous hundreds of options before navigating. 2-3 taps, thats all it should take. UI is way too busy. You guys dont listen to the consumer, thats going to drive your app out of the consumers phones. I just deleted this junk, it has become intolerable.

Works well off-line

I wanted an off-line nav program and this is a good one that really works, unlike a 99c competitor that was awful. The problem is that it has a ton of features and therefore lots of options and lists and menus and settings…all on this tiny phone screen. It is simply too difficult and dangerous to use on the road and I had to pull over all the time to re-set things. A phone nav app should be stripped down and very focused on simply navigating, with big and bright graphics and a minimum of marginal options. Clearly Siri-type voice controls are the future here, ideally on an iPad-sized screen. I will recommend this to those who are skilled enough drivers to know that they cant drive and operate this at the same time.

Bluetooth audio feature shouldve been explained better

Great app, great directions. Feature request: display MyRoutes even if theres no GPS signal fix so I can see where/how am I driving while Im walking to the car (or riding the elevator). Now I have to build custom route for that.

Disappointment!

So far, weve used it in Utah and Wyoming and it doesnt have the first clue about navigating these states. We have resorted to paper maps. Navigon East seems to be much better.

Doesnt know Portland Oregon at all!

It doesnt work at all with POE the ONLY way I used to be able to get it to accurately take me somewhere in Portland is if I have a contact in my phone address book. But now this doesnt work either It does not know address from jack when you type them in. This is for west Region. It happens mostly in the "little big" city of Portland Oregon. It doesnt give me problems in any other Oregon cities though. Not sure but think Navigon needs to learn Portland. There is a simple NE,NE, N, SE & SW the Willamette river separates East from West and Burnside Street separates North from South. So stop taking me to westside of town when Im going to address on Eastside!

Update not launching

After recent update app will no longer connect to server

Preferred pre iOS 7 version

Destinations were previously divided into Recent Destinations and Favorite Destinations when I updated I lost this feature plus all my destinations and had to start over. Also, it no longer is able to find my home my street name since I updated my maps today. I wish I could return to the old version of this program. I liked everything about it

Trouble Restoring Purchases

After each iteration of iOS (5,6,7) or small upgrade/patch .1 or .2 - not matter what, getting back my previous in-app purchases is a GIANT HASSLE. It doesnt connect to the iTunes store - No matter how many fingerprints and/or tries of entering my well-memorized iTunes password. - It just DOESNT Work. switching to Waze

Good But Sometimes Mysterious

Every once in a while Navigon wants me to do mysterious things. Like get off the freeway when I have 12 miles to go or direct me back and forth for no reason. And it did take me a couple of weeks after the last update before my in-app purchases of other regions appeared in the map manager. But overall it does what it should be doing.

Jury is still out

I purchased the app for my trip to Seattle but so far it is not working. It says that my GPS signal is not working, but it is. I also discovered that I have to register the app as well. Which should be fairly easy except the link they provided goes to a dead URL. And when I go to the Garmin wensite and try and register the password that they provided me does not work. I comtacted the company today, 7 May, and will any progress.

USA East maps disappeared

I don’t use Navigon any more even though I still have the USA West maps. I bought USA East maps in an “in-app promotion.” All was great until a major iOS update, the the East maps disappeared even though the app showed a listing. I contacted Navigon support and they asked me to explain via email to explain what happened which I did with a screen capture of the problem and then I never could get them to respond with a download solution. They said I would have to repurchase the East maps at full price. Worthless company IMO, and shocking that in this day and age to have a situation like this arise with no attempt to help a paying customer.
